For several years, the publishing house has been preparing to release a sound recording of the reading of the Holy Quran in Russian. The main task was to find a translation of the text of the Koran, set out in a public language, understandable to the widest circle of Russian-speaking readers. A translation based not only on scientific analysis and closeness to the text, but also on respect for more than a billion Muslims who hold the text of the Koran sacred. Years of searching have been rewarded.

The translation of the Holy Quran, made by the oldest Arabist of Russia, Theodor Adamovich Shumovsky, meets the above requirements in the best possible way. The translation is based on critical analysis, in many ways similar to the European oriental tradition. From an artistic point of view, this translation is poetic, which, according to the translator, most accurately conveys the original, presented in the form of rhymed prose, and also contributes to a more accessible perception of the meaning and essence of the suras of the Koran.
