About the product The book introduces the peculiarities of teaching the course «Worship and the organization of an Orthodox church», the task of which is to tell children 8-10 years old about God and the Church, to introduce a child to the church. Abstract The course «Worship and the organization of an Orthodox church» according to the «Standard of teaching and educational activities in Sunday schools (for children) of the Russian Orthodox Church on the territory of the Russian Federation» is one of the basic doctrinal subjects. The aim of the course is not just to communicate knowledge about God and the Church, but, above all, to introduce a child into the temple, into the life of the Church as one big family. At the beginning of the course, children are introduced to the basic concepts of God and prayer. The section «Church Year» provides a brief explanation of the essence of the celebrated event and the features of the festive worship available for understanding at this age. Studying the twelve feasts, children repeat the Gospel story, and this, in turn, allows explaining the symbolism of the temple and liturgical items. At the end of the course, young Christians will learn about the main points of the All-night Vigil and the Liturgy, church Sacraments. The educational-methodical kit, which, in addition to the methodological manual for the teacher, also includes a book for reading and a workbook, is intended for teaching children 8-10 years old in Sunday schools, Orthodox gymnasiums, in the «Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture» lessons in secular schools. …
